Adult Course - National Association of Interpreter's (NAI)
Certified Interpretive Guide (CIG) course

Oregon State Parks is offering this NAI certified Interpretative Training course covering the basics of interpretation, program development, delivery techniques, and measureable performance objectives. It includes a book exam, preparation of a program outline and the delivery of a 10-minute program.

This course covers all the requirements of NAI certification and is perfect for park docents, volunteers, park seasonals and other individuals delivering interpretative programs.

For volunteers or potential volunteers of Tryon Creek State Natural Area this course would be of great value to nature guides, and those interested in guiding hikes and leading park programs. No previous experience in interpretation is required.

Course meets on all of the following four dates:
THURSDAY, Dec. 6th; FRIDAY, Dec. 7th;
FRIDAY, January 4th and SATURDAY, January 5th

9:00 - 5:00pm each day. Please bring your own lunch.

This class is FREE to students that are not seeking certification.
If a student wishes to obtain certification they need to contact staff at the number below to discuss course costs. ($75 for current NAI members or $128 for non-members).

Pre-registration is required.
Sign up must take place by November 15th, 2007.

Welcome to the subscriber mailing list. The purpose of this mailing list is to encourage people to visit the park either through our educational and interpretative activities, special events, through volunteer opportunities or by strolling along the trails. We will also use this mailing list to highlight park updates and trail/bridge closures as well as conservation/restoration that is happening in the park and within the watershed.
